If Privacy Controls presents no buttons or the interface seems to be messed up, or boxes and text are not aligned properly, this can be resolved by changing your Windows display settings:

This may be caused by the use of a non-standard or modified Windows Theme. As ParetoLogic Privacy Controls relies heavily on graphics, the use of a non-standard theme can lead a conflict with our programs.

You can adjust your theme by doing the following:

  1. Right-click the Windows desktop and choose Personalize.
  2. Select any of the Aero or Basic themes. Your selected theme will be applied immediately.
  3. This problem may also be resolved by changing your Windows font settings back to normal.
  4. Right-click the Windows desktop and choose Screen Resolution.
  5. Click Make text and other items larger or smaller.
  6. Select the Smaller - 100% (default) option.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. You may be required to restart your computer after this change has been made.

If that does not work, you can try adjusting your screen resolution:

  1. Right-click the Windows desktop and choose Screen Resolution.
  2. Use the drop-down menu to show the slider bar by the Resolution section.
  3. Use the slider to select 1280 x 1024.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. If the issue persists, try changing your screen resolution to 1024 x 768.
  6. If you are still experiencing difficulties, attempt uninstalling and then reinstalling the software to correct the issue.
